‘The photos were just incredible, we are so so glad we chose Grace to be part of our special day.’ - Katie

Today I’m bringing you some serious autumn vibes, courtesy of Katie and Ash’s wedding at Pylewell Park in Hampshire. Situated within 27 acres of picturesque grounds, this exclusive use wedding venue boasts a 15-acre lake and private access to the beach – you can just imagine my delight at the photograph backdrops on offer. It was a pleasure to capture Katie and Ash’s special day on camera, so get scrolling and enjoy a sneak peek inside their celebration…
Katie found ‘The One’ after just trying on three dresses and fell in love with it instantly. Her mum sewed her nan’s blue wedding necklace into her garter, which was bought by her bridesmaid, Chloe. So, she ticked the old, new, borrowed and blue off her list in one go! Ash’s suit was from Charles Thywitt, bought just a week before the wedding as there was a formal clothing shortage in London!
Burley Parish Church was the perfect location for a traditional church ceremony, where the bride walked down the aisle to ‘Yours’ by Ella Henderson. “My absolute favourite moment of the day was walking down the aisle in the church to my new husband and just smiling at each other like no-one else was there,” Katie says. The couple chose to get married in autumn, embracing the beautiful array of deep autumn hues on offer at Pylewell Park. They wanted to bring the outside in, working with Nudo Blooms to adorn the venue with traditional, wildly romantic blooms in burgundy, burnt orange, white and gold hues. “The team did a great job at achieving all our expectations. They created different flowers for each of the groomsmen and bridesmaids which really added to the wild effect,” Katie explains.
‘The whole day was just an absolute dream come true…’
For their wedding reception, they opted for burgundy velvet table runners, along with gilded cutlery and intricate white and gold glassware and dinnerware provided by their caterers, @red_herring_ltd. Their wedding breakfast was delicious and effortlessly tied in with the autumnal-esque theme, not to mention their cocktails (negronis and aperol spritz, of course). Their incredible wedding cake was kindly created by Dani, one of their bridesmaids, @baked_bean_.
Katie and Ash’s first dance song was, ‘I was made for loving you’ by Tori Kelly & Ed Sheeran. It was sang by their amazing band, The Soulkets. Guests then made the most of the celebration, with everyone joining the newlyweds on the dance-floor, ready to party the night away! The happy couple were actually due to get married in Tuscany but unfortunately had to cancel due to COVID, so instead spent their honeymoon in Mykonos. They had just six weeks to plan their UK wedding after securing a date at Pylewell Park.
‘Enjoy it! Sounds simple but weddings can be so stressful and so you have to make sure to appreciate and make memories from the little moments, choosing the flowers to the tastings, there are lots of opportunities to build wonderful memories.’
If Katie and Ash’s big day doesn’t make you want to tie the knot during the autumn months, I don’t know what will. Everything about their wedding was truly special, from the styling to the speeches, the venue to the dancing. Thank you to K + A for choosing me to document your love story!
